Conjugated Polymers

Water soluble PDAs are successfully synthesized using host-guest strategy. The crystal structure of the resulting polymer demonstrate the PDA materials with excellent quality. And this material has remarkable chromism properties in dependence upon pH conditions. With FITC or TPE-CN modified, the materials showed diverse fluorescence response to different pH stimulation. Therefore, we developed a new kind of stimuli responsive functional material.



 

 AIE Photosensitizers

A new kind of AIE molecules with excellent PDT effect in the cancer treatment were developed, which can induce the cell apoptosis in 15 seconds upon light illumination. Simultaneously, the increasing in the fluorescent signal readout could quickly evaluate its therapeutic response in situ. Such a single molecule that can not only execute effective PDT therapy but also report back on its efficacy in real time, is of great significance to evaluate and guide the therapy.

Peptide Assemblies

Studies have shown that lentinan can inhibit the aggregation of human amylin. The results show that lentinan could reduce the fluorescence signal of ThT and inhibit the fibrosis of hIAPP. In particular, when the triple helix structure of LNT exists, the inhibitory effect is more obvious. What is more, lentinan with a triple helix structure can prevent hIAPP from producing toxic oligomers and inhibit its cytotoxicity against INS-1. Therefore, lentinan as a potential drug for the treatment of type 2 diabetes is of great significance.
